Heidi Collins
Heidi grew up a pastor’s kid “PK” in the Presbyterian church and has always had a heart to serve. Counseling is Heidi’s second career. She made a major shift in her late 30’s, from working in construction management to addiction counseling. It was after having struggled for many years with her own issues and overcoming them that led her to become a counselor. She describes her transformation as going “from the darkness into the light.” After working as a Certified Addiction Professional (CAP) for many years, Heidi went to Reformed Theological Seminary, where she received her Master of Counseling, and she is now a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC).
Heidi has a passion for helping others to be set free from their pain/shame/suffering and knows how important it is to have someone care well for their hearts as they walk through their healing journey. She now specializes in working with clients who experience a wide range of symptoms, including addiction, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, family conflicts, anger management, motivation, self-esteem, relationship issues, spousal/partner abuse, church abuse, ADHD and menopausal issues.
She also has a heart for caring for pastors and their families. Heidi knows the pain of growing up in a home where the pastor is both celebrated and condemned, and what a burden that can be for the pastor, their spouse, and their children.
She loves watching movies with her mom (this is newly found enjoyment since her father passed away), she loves walking her Pitbull-mix (Zoey), loves the beach, hiking, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Star Wars (3-6), MCU (phase 1-3 only!) and Christian music. Heidi has been told that she is “a theologian at heart,” as she loves to study the Bible. She knows that everyone is on their own journey, and she would be honored to walk with you on yours!
